May 8th - Rachel Platten visits with her band at PS 102 in East Harlem!

Last Thursday, singer/songwriter Rachel Platten paid a visit to PS 102's choral group, lead by ETM TA Rudolph Vernaz Colas. Rachel and the kids rehearsed their song selection, the Beatles' "Let it Be", and everyone had a rockin' good time. Does Rachel and her groovy group have what it takes to bring home the "Battle of the Bands" trophy? Find out May 15th when YOU decide who will win!

May 3rd - Siddhartha Khosla visits with his band at Mt. Carmel-Holy Rosary!

Every Saturday throughout the school year, ETM teaching artist Sharon Kim's dedicated Honors Violin class meets at the school for an extended practice session. Last Saturday they were fortunate enough to spend their morning with Sidhartha Khosla, lead singer for Goldspot, and rehearse their song selection, an ambitious violin and vocal medley of "I'll Be Missing You". Benefit MC Hollywood Hamilton even stopped by to check it out! Sid was very impressed with the kids' talent and dedication and afterwards declared that his band had the trophy in the bag. April 29th - Members of The Mooney Suzuki visit with their band at St. Brendan!

Yesterday Mooney Suzuki drummer Will Rockwell-Scott and lead singer Sammy James, Jr. visited with the 6th, 7th and 8th grade Honors Chorus at St. Brendan school in the Bronx to rehearse their song selection, "Grazing in the Grass". Together with ETM teaching artist Phil Tambakis, the duo spent two hours rehearsing with the kids and giving them pointers on stage presence and how to act like 'real' rock stars. Will Sam and Will's experience help the St. Brendan's band capture the coveted "Battle of the Bands" trophy? Find out on May 15th, when YOU decide who will win "School of Rock"!

April 24th - DJ ESO signs up as the "after-party" DJ!

Famed Toronto DJ Peter Greszata, aka "DJ ESO" is generously donating his time to spin from 9-11PM!

April 4th - Legendary Twisted Sister Guitarist JJ French visits with his "band" :

Last Friday, JJ French put on his coaching cap and headed out to the Bronx, where "Natural Progression", his band from St. Clare school, (and their parents!) were eagerly awaiting his arrival. JJ spent almost two hours with the kids, coaching them on their selected song, "We're Not Gonna Take It". The four band members were so exhilarated after the visit, they immediately and preemptively declared themselves to be the winners of the competition.
